Selena Gomez has become an open book about some of the most intimate parts of her life. Over the weekend, she stepped out for the Harper's Bazaar Icons Party at New York Fashion Week with The Weeknd. This marks the second time these two walked a carpet together since they started dating and we can't get enough of how adorable they are. Not only did Selena let fans get a glimpse of how happy she and her boyfriend really are together, but she also opened up about how many people she actually considers a friend.
"You have to figure out the people that are in your circle. I feel like I know everybody but have no friends. [Laughs] I have like three good friends that I can tell everything to, but I know everyone, I go anywhere and I'm like, 'Hey guys, how's it going?' And it feels great to be connected to people, but having boundaries is so important," she said. "You have to have those few people that respect you, want the best for you and you want the best for them. It sounds cheesy, but it's hard."
We've literally never thought about it like this, but the songstress has a point here. Being in her position, it's hard to trust people even though you have dozens of these individuals interacting with you every single day. For Selena, it all started at a very young age, and she at times didn't like all of the attention and that became very clear to her one time she was wearing a bathing suit.
"I remember just feeling really violated when I was younger, even just being on the beach. I was maybe 15 or 16 and people were taking pictures — photographers. I don't think anyone really knew who I was. But I felt very violated and I didn't like it or understand it, and that felt very weird because I was a young girl and they were grown men. I didn't like that feeling," Selena said.
That really is not a good feeling in the slightest. She has since learned to live with all the extra attention she gets in her life and has gotten comfortable sharing more personal details about her life with fans. It's being reported that the "Bad Liar" singer and The Weeknd have actually moved in together temporarily in New York City. Of course, Selena is in the Big Apple working on the new Woody Allen movie alongside Elle Fanning. As for her personal life, though, things are going well. Living with The Weeknd is a huge step, and it's pretty awesome how far she's come in the past year. They even just recently got a puppy together too! So if one thing is for sure, Selena has found a best friend in The Weeknd.
